JHV 72 The Storch Violin

This ⅞ size violin belonged to Elsa Katzenstein, an accomplished violinist from Hamburg, Germany. Her talent was recognized as early as age ten, and she went on to have a career teaching lessons and playing in the Hamburg-Chabmer Orchestra until the Nuremburg laws limited her means of living in 1935. This violin accompanied the family in their immigration to the United States, after having sold more valuable instruments to help afford the move.
